It was founded as Tripura Engineering College in 1965 and declared a National Institute of Technology (NIT) in 2006, thus being recognized as an Institute of National Importance.

Remuneration:

| Transportation allowance | Rs. 500/- per day |
| Remuneration (In case of Experienced Faculty) | Rs. 2000/- per hour |
- Interested candidates are hereby informed to submit their CV with academic details providing Colleges/Universities attended & percentage of marks secured, to the HOD, Department of Physics, NIT Agartala by email at: aparnanath1964@gmaiI.com by 07-02-2024 & subsequently report for interview on 09-02-2024 at the scheduled time.
- Interested candidates are requested to bring their original certificates/documents and self attested photo copies of the same for further submission on the day of interview positively, along with an application in plain paper and a comprehensive bio-data bearing photograph of candidate.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
