The Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG) is a national importance institution offering B.Tech. courses in Computer Science Engineering and ECE, M.Tech. courses, and PhD programs. Established in 2013, it began operations in 2013 and received funding for academic advancement and infrastructure development under TEQIP III. IIITG was designated as one of 20 PPP-IIITs by the Indian parliament in 2017. It holds the top spot out of all MHRD IIITs.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline with a very good academic record throughout. Candidates who have submitted their thesis, or are likely to submit shortly, may also apply.
Pay Scale Example for Assistant Professor :

- Salary:
- As per Central Govt Scales. Posts are regular and are reserved for candidates belonging to ST, SC, OBC and EWS as per Govt Rules.
- Every January 1 or July 1, there will be an increment of 3% of the current pay. In the first year, those joining before July 1 will get their first increment on the following January 1.
- Allowances as part of pay: DA: 46% of pay (currently), NE allowance: 10% of pay; Transport Allowance: Rs. 5256/-
- Other major benefits: Medical support (out-patient support with limits; group health insurance for hospitalization), rent-free accommodation on campus
