About Institute: Indian Maritime University
The Indian Maritime University (IMU) is a Central University located in Chennai, India. With the passage of the Indian Maritime University Act 2008, an Act of Parliament, it was established in 2008. The university is committed to offering education and training in a variety of maritime disciplines, such as marine engineering, maritime law, marine management, and navigation.
The Visakhapatnam Campus of IMU was established in November 2008 through the merger of the National Ship Design and Research Centre (NSDRC). In order to satisfy the government and industry’s requirements for ship procurement, fabrication, and ship design, the NSDRC was established in 1991 as a research centre. There are two campuses at the Visakhapatnam Campus of IMU: the primary campus is located in Vangali village of Sabbavaram Mandal, while the older campus is situated in the Gandhigram area.

The discipline at PG level shall be Naval Architecture / Marine /Marine Structures / Structural Engineering /Thermal / Production / Mechatronics / CAD/CAM. Desirable: a) Ph. D in a relevant discipline. b) Research publications such as books/ research papers/policy papers as per the UGC norms. c) Possess knowledge in Ship design/repair/building, Plan approval, class survey and regulations. d) Teaching or industrial experience in shipbuilding or related fields. e) Exposure to Outcome Based Education. |

Tech Degree at the Graduate Level with either CA/ICWAI or with at least 55 % marks (or equivalent grade) in MBA (International Transportation and Logistics)/ MBA (Logistics & Supply Chain Management)/ MBA (Port and Shipping Management) or an equivalent MBA from a recognized Indian University or from an accredited foreign University. A pass in the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC like the state Level Eligibility Test (SLET) in Management. Candidates with a Ph.D in Management shall be exempted from the requirement of clearing the NET/SLET/SET. Exposure to Outcome Based Education. |
