NIMS University, previously known as the National Institute of Medical Sciences, is an Indian state-owned technical and medical institution located in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Established under The Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur Act, 2008 by the State Government of Rajasthan in March 2008, it was founded by Dr. Balvir S. Tomar. A committee of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India conducted an inspection of the university in July 2011. Based on their findings, the UGC endorsed the university for State Private University status, contingent upon the resolution of several compliance concerns. This procedure was finalized in October 2014.
