Ramaiah Institute of Technology (RIT), formerly known as M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), is an independent private engineering institute located in Bengaluru, in the Indian state of Karnataka. The college was founded in 1962 and is connected to Visvesvaraya Technological University.
RIT has maintained academic autonomy for both undergraduate and graduate programs since August 2007. Although degrees are still awarded by VTU, the college is free to design its own study plans, curricula, and methods of assessing students. Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Technology, Master of Business Administration, and programs leading to the granting of PhD in a variety of fields are among the undergraduate and graduate courses of study and research that are offered at RIT. In addition, RIT conducts research in twelve fields, including management and engineering.
